In bus
You can get to Chicoutimi with the Intercar bus. A public transport service is also available between Chicoutimi and L'Anse-Saint-Jean by Transport adapté du Fjord on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The bus leaves Chicoutimi at 1:30 pm and you have to reserve your place beforehand, by calling at 418-272-1397. They will come get you at the bus station or anywhere else.

Ridesharing
Commercial services such as Allo-Stop and Amigo Express sometimes offer rides for L'Anse-Saint-Jean, but most of the time they will drop you in Chicoutimi or in Saint-Siméon from where you can take the Transport adapté or hitchhike. A lot of people from L'Anse-Saint-Jean also do the roundtrip to Chicoutimi regularly and you can always call us to see if we can arrange a ride for you.

Hitchhiking
A good way to get to L'Anse-Saint-Jean when you do not have a car is certainly by hitchhiking. For those coming from Quebec City, we recommend that you take the Chicoutimi route, because it is the most efficient one. If you choose that option, we also suggest that you take the 801 bus in direction of Charlesbourg and that you get off it at the stop just after the former Quebec Zoo. You can then walk on the de la Faune Street until you reach the 73 North. From there on, just follow the previous directions for the rest of the trip.

If you want to hitchhike to get to L'Anse-Saint-Jean, we advise you not to stop in Saint-Félix-d'Otis or in Sagard, since those villages are well-known for being hitchhiking traps. For other advices on how to hitchhike in Quebec visit the Le pouceux website.

By Boat
From those coming from Tadoussac, it is possible to take a Croisière du Fjord cruise that will land you at the L'Anse-Saint-Jean wharf. Special prices are available on demand if you only do the cruise from Tadoussac to L'Anse-Saint-Jean.

rectangle  During the Winter

Take note that the access road is closed to car traffic during the winter. You will thus have to leave your vehicle at the parking lot on the right just after the Plateaux Road entrance. We offer a cheap shuttle service on snowmobile ($10 per ride) to go up the hill. In this case, you will have to give us a phone call beforehand so that we can come get you (take note as well that cellphones do not work in L'Anse-Saint-Jean). If you want to climb up the hill by foot, we suggest that you do it before dusk. The ascension is about 1 km long.
